My scholarly work focuses on knowledge and understanding apparel design and manufacturing processes and strategies, concentrating on design inspiration, creative processes and visual analogy reasoning. It includes the study of how designers design, the principles, practices and procedures of apparel design, and development of design skills and creativity. As common perceptions of creativity in apparel design focus on analogical transformations as the most visible part of design activity, the specific research projects are selected to address issues of apparel design-by-visual analogy, fabric inspired apparel design and adaptive or variant apparel design research.

My second research interest is on mathematical modeling of fabric drape for apparel CAD. My multi-disciplinary design and science background enabled me to approach to the different aspects of apparel design research, based on designers, processes and products.
