I have interests in diseases of multiple species, and research collaborations in countries such as Laos and Malaysia. My thesis work at the University of California-Davis was on poultry. Recent equine-research topics have included equine motor-neuron disease and Potomac horse fever. My dairy-oriented topics include cryptosporidiosis, leptospirosis, and listeriosis. I am interested in risk management, as well as in defining the epidemiology and risk factors for diseases.
