Ruminant nutrition
-
Modifying the current feeding program to either improve performance or maintain the current level of performance with lower ingredient costs or inputs
-
Factors observed in the field that influence performance, including environment, cattle breed type and mature size, use of various anabolic agents, previous plane of nutrition, effective fiber, degradable carbohydrates and protein, rates of digestion and passage, and variable efficiency of use of absorbed energy and protein
Leadership for a team of scientists at Cornell that have been developing the CNCPS over the past 17 years as a nutritional accounting system to more accurately predict nutrient requirements and nutrient utilization to meet requirements with wide variations in animal, feed, and environmental conditions
