  • The HIV/AIDS Program provides care to approximately 1,650 HIV-infected persons, in addition to conducting basic and clinical research. The Cornell Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU) and the Center for Special Studies (a New York State Designated AIDS Center) outpatient facilities occupy an entire floor of the Hospital. There is also a 40-bed AIDS inpatient unit in the Hospital. In 1998, we expanded our AIDS outpatient clinical and research program in a joint effort with the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC).

The faculty of the Division of International Medicine and Infectious Diseases also staffs the International Health Care Service (IHCS). IHCS provides travel advice and immunizations for 4,500 persons annually, in addition to post-travel infectious diseases and tropical medicine consultations.
