teaching overview
- I am the lab instructor for NatRes 325 (Woodlot Management and Maple Syrup Production)that is offered bi-annually. I also oversee 1 undergraduate enrolled annually in the Arnot Forest summer intern program, participate in the annual Environmental Career Skills freshman orientation workshop conducted annually and annually give 2 or 3 guest lectures and lab field trips for other CALS cources.

- My focus is on wise use and management of NY's natural resources, including forest and wildlife. My primary audiences are CCE County Educators, NY Master Forest Owners, 4-H youth, and private rural landowners. My principle outreach modes are regional workshops, the NY Master Forest Owner Volunteer Program, and newspaper and magazine articles. Topics and issues I have expertise in include deer management, silviculture, invasive forest plants, grassland birds, biodiversity, and wildlife habitat enhancement.
