***Agroecological Perspectives for Sustainable Development Seminar Series*** Dr. Robert Herdt is an adjunct international professor of agricultural economics at Cornell, advisor to the CALS Director of International Programs and a member of the USDA Secretary of Agriculture's Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture. During the past several decades, he worked at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines (1973-1983) and the CGIAR Secretariat at the World Bank (1983-1986), and most recently, served as vice president of the Rockefeller Foundation (1986-2003).
