Assistant Professor

research

research and scholarship focus

Her research focuses on antibody mediated immune responses and allergy in the horse. Antibodies are key molecules of the immune response mediating a wide range of secondary effect or mechanisms. They can be used to monitor the immune status or for treatment and prophylaxis of diseases. Currently, she investigates the roles that different IgG isotypes have in infectious diseases. Another project characterizes the molecular mechanisms of allergy in horses including the analysis of maternal non-genetic factors that influence allergy predisposition in offspring. An important ongoing work area of her group is the development of immunological reagents for veterinary species.
