Like the general field of Latino Studies, the minor Field of Latino Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that focuses on Latino/a issues in the United States as opposed to Latin America. It takes as its object of study the historical, linguistic, literary, social, economic, and political experiences of a vastly heterogeneous population in the United States that today totals over 35 million people.
